'Selfie' Nation: The Social Self-Portrait Trend

We looked at this video in the lecture about Web 2.0, which spoke about the selfie culture. The video looked at selfies as a form of spontaneity caught in a photograph and that perhaps a selfie is a form of insecurity rather then confidence and narcissism.

How to Take The Perfect Selfie

I decided to have a look at some videos about 'the selfie' and when i came
across this i was quiet shocked at how serious some people are taking it; this
video is obviously aimed at those who are very fashion conscious and care a
great deal about what other people think, so they are taking a mini class in how
to improve their selfie's in hopes for more likes and comments.

This music video is hilarious! it makes fun of the people who are taking the selfie world
too seriously. It was defiantly interesting to watch, as the video illustrates some rules
about the selfie i.e. when the girl talks about how many likes she has got in ten minutes
and the idea of buying followers; these subconscious rules show how the selfie is a form
of narcism however, it is also a form of reassurance as to be satisfied on these social networks you must have a profile with a particular amount of followers and your selfie must have a certain amount of likes for you to be satisfied.
